World Final and World Masters

Bev decided not to go to the World Final at Ipswich as she didn't think her knee could cope with the crowds, long distances to walk or steps, so Paul went with us bears and left Bev at home. Paul said it was all a bit of a disappointment, with the World Final itself being a shambles of a race - the start was messy with some drivers thinking there would be another rolling start and others starting to race, so poor Frankie got caught up in the first lap, dropping from 2nd row to 16th row, then recovering to come in 10th! Andy Smith raced off into the sunset and easily won what he described as "not the most exciting World Final". Frankie won the evening's final race, which was a far more exciting event and his win was much better news for his fans!

Roll forward to Sunday's World Masters at Northampton, and you would find both Bev and Paul basking in the glorious sunshine, drinking cider and watching Frankie race really well. He won his heat and then came 2nd in the World Masters behind Ed Neachell, with Andy in 3rd place. Frankie was third in the Grand National, behind Andy Smith and a Belgian driver (B399). So, all in all, a good day's racing with Bev and Paul getting a little too much sun - the sun even got through the holes in Bev's crocs, leaving her with an interesting pattern on the tops of her feet!
