Scary George

Well, after extensive practise of my paw-to-paw combat skills, I finally met scary George, and he was a BIG softy! He didn't play rough, bite or scratch - he just sniffed me and then rubbed his head against me (phew!). Sooty and Tom were very affectionate, and both Bev and I had a lovely time at Keith and Sheila's on Wednesday night. We had a lovely meal, a couple of drinks and a chat, then a beautiful night's sleep in a large, comfy bed.

Unfortunately, it was wet and windy today, so I stayed in the warm house with the cats while Bev and Keith drove over to Wales and visited their customer. Which, of course, means that I didn't get my photograph taken in Wales. But never mind, we had a great time and there will be other opportunities for visiting Wales to have my photograph taken there.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone! Apologies for not sending new year greetings before now, but I have only just recovered from the festive eating, drinking and partying, and then Bill & I had to nurse both Bev & Paul through their bouts of man-flu - so all in all, there hasn't been much time for blogging.

So, what have we been up to and what exciting events do we have to look forward to?

Ok, firstly, Mr Chimp has been renamed Tony the Chimp by a unanimous vote amongst us bears. Why have we named him Tony? Well, because he reminds us of the F1 Stock Car driver Tony Smith - sturdy and cheery!

Last weekend, Paul took us bears and Tony the Chimp to the Car Show at the NEC in Birmingham, where we all drooled over the new F1 Stock Cars and watched racing in the Thunderdome. Bill and I wore our Christmas aftershave and also drooled over the babes! Quite a few drivers had turned up, though not Frankie who is racing in New Zealand at the moment. However, Daniel and Frankie Wainman Senior were there showing off Daniel's new car, and other cars on display included Tom Harris' new F1 Stock Car, Georgia Neachell's ministox car, and Mick Sworder's new F2 Stock Car. All in all, it was a great day out, and it was a welcome fix for us addicts until the new racing season starts at Easter.

So, what exciting events are coming up? Well, I am off to sunny Wales tomorrow with Bev to visit Keith, Sheila and scary George, their cat. I am practising my paw-to-paw combat just in case George decides to play rough. Bev and Keith are then off to visit a customer, so hopefully I can come too and check out the Welsh bears. With any luck, Bev will get a photograph of me in Wales just to prove I really am a well-travelled bear!

Bev & Magnus in Wales

Little Magnus is in a huff because I haven't written about his trip to sunny Wales with Bev - he says that he *never* gets a mention in this blog, which is not true - I have written about him lots and even put his photographs on the blog! There's just no pleasing some bears! Anyway, I know it's a bit late, but here is what Bev and Magnus got up to in sunny Bristol and Wales at the beginning of September.

The trip to Wales started with a scary drive to Bristol in the horrible Ford "Style". Bev and Magnus then had a lovely time staying in a pretty little cottage outside Bristol with Keith, Sheila and their 3 delightful cats - Tom, Sooty and scary George. The following morning Keith drove Bev into Wales to visit their customers, and as the weather was warm and sunny with blue skies, they got to see Wales at its best - rolling hills, mountains, woods and pretty streams. Magnus has added it to his list of perfect places for bears, and they might even take the humans there on holiday one day if they are good!
