Business Trip with Bev

What a wonderful week I had last week - Bev had to go to Warrington on business, so she took me with her to a posh hotel for 2 days! And while she went out to see customers or worked on her laptop, I wandered round the hotel checking out the facilities, ate any tasty titbits I could find, used the gym and pool, and lazed around on the king-size bed. I had a great time, and Bev enjoyed having some company while she was away from home. The hotel was quite nice - perhaps I could take Phoebe there for a romantic weekend sometime soon. I think I need to pay her more attention, as Bruno seems to be spending a lot of time with her lately, and has taken to calling her his "love muffin"! Errr, Bruno, paws off - she is my girlfriend (and occasionally Bill's girlfriend too), so less of the Italian "love muffin" romantic sweet-talk!

Other bears in our house

The photograph is of Bruno - our Bruno, not Sandra's Bruno with his 2nd head! He was purchased in Italy, at Lake Garda, when Bev & Paul couldn't face 2 weeks without a teddy. Bill and myself are too big to get into the suitcases along with all the clothes, and Bill says Italy is too hot for a polar bear anyway. So, that is how Bruno joined us.
He is a very sweet bear, and had a little flower in a pouch in his tummy. Does that make him a marsupial rather than a bear? Who knows or cares - not a stuffed bear, that's for sure!
Bruno doesn't come to the racing because he's Italian and follows boring racing like F1 Grand Prix instead of F1 rufty-tufty stock car racing, and it would get a bit crowded in the back seat of the car with 3 bears, Sandra and her bears (plus rucksacks full of cider - oops, I shouldn't have said that!).

Bruno's First Head

Sandra brought her beautiful hand-made bears, Bruno and Dudley (both straight bears, I hasten to add), with her on Sunday to the racing, and we discovered to our horror that Bruno is sporting his second head - Sandra was unhappy with his first head so chopped it off and gave him a new head. Bill and I were pretty traumatised by this piece of news - this ranks up there with seeing a friend tied to the front of a bin lorry in trauma terms! Has this woman no feelings? Anyway, Bev says she can think of some people who would be better off with Bruno's first head than the poor excuse for a head that they currently have!
Fudge, a lady-bear also made by Sandra, is my favourite . She wears very pretty dresses and has soft paws. However, I seem to have upset her by describing myself as single and available on another blog, so she stayed in her room in tears rather than coming to the racing. Personally, I think she was scared I would want to check her welding skills, but hopefully a couple of cans of cider and a box of chocolates will get her back into my good books (Hamish, being a typical male bear!)
