Consolation Semi-Final at Belle Vue (Monday 28th August)

We didn't go to this, as it started at 5pm and was a long way from home - we would all have been knackered on Tuesday after driving home from Manchester in the wee small hours of the morning. However, that doesn't stop me, Hamish MacBear, cub reporter, from making some comments about the race meeting.
Ok, first thing is that Frankie is god - well, you knew I would say that, but it is true. He had the option of racing in Monday's Consolation Semi-Final, but decided not to. The reason is that he already had a position at the back of the pack because he is the defending World Champion but has failed to qualify in his semi-final. He took the decision so that someone else could qualify from the Consolation Semi-Final. Give that man a cheer for being such a nice person! So, Mark Gilbank (21) and James Neachell (322) both qualified, and will sit just in front of Frankie.
Carlos did race after all, but came in 4th, so he is second reserve.
Ok, back to Frankie being god. After the Consolation Semi-Final, there was the full race meeting, and Frankie won his heat and the final, then came 6th in the Grand National from a lap down. 4 heats and 2 finals in 2 days! This man is flying! Go Frankie, go, go, go - you can win the World Final from the back of the pack!
We'll be there on Saturday cheering our little lungs out for Frankie. Whether he wins or not, he will race his socks off, and that's what matters!
So, what are we looking forward to on Saturday? Seeing Frankie race in the World Final. What are we not looking forward to? the Neil Diamond tribute band playing between the races - yeuccchhhhhh! We're only 4, we want something more exciting than Neil Diamond, for goodness sake!
