2010:
- Bev enjoyed her first year in her new job and still has 6 months of her contract to run. Paws crossed they keep her on.
- We all had a cracking holiday in Scotland this year - it was wetter and colder than previous holidays, but we still managed to get out and about, and even went paddling in the sea at Morar (the Road to the Isles). One of the highlights was seeing the wild cats at the Highland Wildlife Park at Kincraig, and Bill and Phoebe got to meet their relative, Mercedes, the polar bear.
- Bev got her new macro lens for her camera, and set about photographing flowers, insects, etc with some success.
- We had one of the coldest and snowiest springs and winters, with the country grinding to a halt for about a fortnight and everyone whining on about how awful it was! But we bears loved it, especially Bill & Phoebe, who went off hunting for seals. Tony and I built an igloo and had snowball fights in the back garden, then had a takeway pizza - you wouldn't catch up eating horrible blubbery food - euuugghhhh!
- We got our new car, which is a thing of beauty. Bev loves the electronic gearbox, which means she doesn't have to change gear - bliss!
- Frankie had an abysmal year at the racing, and Andy Smith won the World Final yet again. Sadly, Andy and Stuart Smith's father died at Christmas. Our condolences to the Smith family - Stuart Smith Snr will be greatly missed.
- Paul had another great year of flag mashalling at the racing, and was a marshal at the World Final at Coventry.
- Another year of great stock car racing, with Frankie hopefully doing better than in 2010
- Another holiday in Scotland, with a short trip there earlier in the year to celebrate the 60th Wedding Anniversary of Carlos and the Nice Lady!
- More photography, especially trying out the new +4 diopter filter that Santa brought
- Bev's employer has paid for her to renew her Prince2 qualification, so she needs to set aside time to revise the course material and sit the exam
- Our house is being replumbed in 2011 - that should be fun (NOT!). It involves emptying the house, moving to temporary accommodation for 8 weeks, then moving back again. Paul is under strict instructions to count us bears into the temporary accommodation and to count us back out again! We lost one bear in Scotland (posted back again by the nice lady) so we are not going to lose another bear on my watch!
- Another fun year for Paul at Coventry Stadium as a flag marshal.
