We took advantage of the weather at the weekend to get out with the cameras and scope, and enjoy a day at Grafham Water near Peterborough. None of us had been before, so we weren't sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised - although it is basically a huge reservoir (a bit like Rutland Water), a large proportion of it is a nature reserve, with natural and managed woodland, bird hides, and ponds for dragonflies and other insects. The weather was warm and sunny, and we had a teddy bears' picnic sitting on the grass overlooking the lake! Bliss! That was followed by a nap, then a spot of playing in the woods while Paul and Bev watched the birds and took photographs.
