Well, despite his best efforts and the amazing efforts of the 515 / 212 team last weekend, Frankie came 3rd in the National Series Championship and loses his silver roof to Stuart Smith Junior. Congratulations to Stuart and commiserations to Frankie. Frankie blew his engine on Saturday night so the Wainman team took the engine out of Danny's car and put it into Frankie's car in an hour! Talk about dedication - most other drivers would have given up in disgust, loaded up their car and driven home, but not the Wainmans! Apparently there were cheers in the pits when the engine fired up.
Unfortunately, Frankie struggled with the replacement engine (it lost oil pressure) and he gained no points at all on Saturday night. After about 4 hours sleep he set up his tarmac car for the final race at Belle Vue on Sunday.
Never mind, Frankie - we all know the silver roof is only on loan to the Smiths this year, and you will win it back again next year!
