Genius

Bev has discovered the brilliant "Genius" functionality on the latest version of iTunes - pick a track in iTunes, press the Genius button and iTunes generates a playlist based on the original track. Bev has been having lots of fun with this as she gets bored listening to the same stuff over and over again, and this brings up tracks she had forgotten were even on her iPod (easily done when you have over 10,000 tracks on that handy little gadget).

So, back to Tuesday morning and having scraped the ice off the car, Bev starts her journey to work listening to a Genius playlist based on Chelsea Dagger by the Fratellis (good Glasgow band). As she drives through the frosty country lanes, what tune starts playing on her iPod? Yup, Roy Woods' "I Wish It Could be Christmas Everyday"! Oh no, not Christmas songs already! I know it was frosty outside, but it's TOO early for Christmas records!

You can also get Genius to recommend tracks and albums that you don't already have but are sold on iTunes. However, Bev is having way too much fun listening to stuff she had forgotten she had on her iPod to think about stuff that she hasn't already got on her nifty gadget. But give it time......
