We decided to go to the racing on Saturday, so headed up to the Birmingham Wheels Track for 6pm. As it was a National Series fixture, there were lots of F1 cars as well as F2s and 2 litre saloon stock cars, so we knew we were in for an entertaining evening.
Andy Smith was in blistering form tonight, and while he didn't qualify in his heat, he won the consolation race and the meeting final, while Frankie came in 3rd in his heat and 6th in the final. The Grand National was another brilliant race, with Frankie setting off at a blistering pace. He got held up on one of the corners, which allowed Andy to catch up, but Frankie put Andy in the fence and continued to race his socks off to come in 4th, with Andy coming in 10th.
We didn't get home until after 1am - we were tired little teddy bears, and our humans were not much better. Thankfully, Paul did manage to stay awake as he was driving us home. Anyway, It was yet another great night's racing, and we are now counting down the days until the next fixure on the 22nd of September - the World Final at Kings Lynn.
