Poor Frankie was involved in a spectacular high-speed accident at Hednesford today - his car hit another car at over 80mph, then took off like a rocket, hitting the fence, rolling over several times and landing on its roof. The paramedics put a screen up round the car and the race was cancelled - Bev and Paul were in shock, fearing the worst. Frankie was unconscious but they got him out of his car by cutting the roof off - poor Bev didn't know which she was the most distraught over, Frankie being injured or her favourite car being wrecked! Anyway, Frankie finally emerged from the car to be taken away in an ambulance, and his car was stretchered off in a very sorry state indeed.
Several hours later, Frankie appeared in the pits to help load the cars onto the transporter, but he looked very battered and bruised - he has a black eye or bruised cheek bone, and appeared to be in some pain. However, he is ok and the car (paws crossed) is repairable.
Get well soon Frankie and we bears hope you will be out racing again within the next few weeks, as the racing will be much slower without you on the track!
