Excellent night's racing at Wimbledon

The racing at Wimbledon on Sunday evening was brilliant. In the F2s, poor old Gordon Moodie had problems with his car, so didn't make it into the final, but fellow-Scot Chris Burgoyne raced well. And in the F1s Frankie did quite well in the heats, coming 2nd and 3rd. However, in the final, he was in blistering form and raced his little socks off to come in first. After winning that final, he became the second-top finalist ever in F1 history - only one other person has won more finals than Frankie. No wonder he was doing donuts after the race!
The F1s then came out for the Grand National, with Frankie starting a lap down. He raced really well, gradually reaching the back of the pack, and a race stoppage helped close the distance between him and Nick Smith, who was leading. Then in the last few laps, Frankie rapidly closed the gap between himself and Nick, he hit Nick on the last bend and they both headed toward the fence, then both powered their cars forward towards the finish line, but Frankie beat Nick by a whisker! Yipee, Frankie won not only the Final but the Grand National too! He's a star!
And then it was a scary ride home through London with Paul at the wheel of the car. We bears slid around on the back seat, feeling queasy as Paul weaved his way in and out of the traffic. Thank goodness next week will be a leisurely drive to Birmingham and Cannock rather than through the centre of London!
