Great night's racing at Northampton

What a great night's racing last night at Northampton! Lots of cars turned up, the racing was very rufty-tufty, with pushing, shoving, shunts and crashes, but the key ingredient was just lots and lots of excellent driving. At the start of Frankie's first heat, he was sandwiched between the Smith brothers, and we were worried that he might not survive the race. But Frankie was on top form, finding (or making) gaps between cars, avoiding any hold-ups and catching up with the lead car to take the chequered flag. Well done, Frankie! The final was pretty much a re-run of the heat, though Frankie didn't catch the lead car, so came in a very creditable second. And the Grand National was another nail-biting race, this time with some pushing and shoving between Frankie and Stuart Smith Junior. Frankie got to the front and built up a good lead, only to have the yellow flags waved with one lap to go - oh no! Frankie had to start the remaining lap in single file with Stuart Smith right behind him. When the flag went down, Frankie was off like a rocket with Stuart Smith seemingly glued to the back of his car, but Stuart just couldn't get close enough, so Frankie took the chequered flag again - yipee!
The racing from the other F1s and the F2s was brilliant, and we are off for some more of the same tonight at Wimbledon.
