Oh dear, Bev had a bad car day yesterday! The battery light came on while she was driving to work, so she called out the AA who not only found that the alternator belt had come adrift, but the pulley had sheared off as well. The very nice AA man charged up the car battery and sent her off to a garage, where the car is now being fixed. Luckily there is no damage in the engine compartment, so the repair won't take too long or be too expensive. Bev was getting very panicky about the car - we thought she was worried about getting to work for the rest of the week, but was she chookie! She was worried about getting to the racing at the weekend! She needs the racing to recharge her batteries after a stressful week at work, so she will be at Coventry and Hednesford this weekend cheering on Frankie in the National Points Championship!
Goodness knows what she will do when the racing finishes the following weekend - she and Paul will be counting down the weeks until the racing starts up again in late March. She should be like us bears and hibernate until the start of the next racing season. Bill - but Hamish we can't hibernate until March because we will miss Christmas and getting presents! And anyway, Phoebe and I are polar bears so we don't have to hibernate. Hamish - bum, I'd forgotten about Christmas! How could I have forgotten about presents! Ok bears, no hibernation but lots of staying in bed on cold days, wrap up warm if we have to go out, and start writing down what presents we want for Christmas!
