Both humans are so stressed out at the moment that they need a fun weekend, and that's just what we plan to do! We are off to the racing at Ipswich on Saturday evening, staying overnight at a Travelodge somewhere (still to be booked) and then heading off to Northampton for a Sunday afternoon of racing. Frankie has a 21-point lead over Andy, and is playing his joker (double points) on Sunday, so we are very anxious little bears (Hamish nibbling his claws) in case Frankie gets knocked out or gets fewer points than Andy. Frankie needs to hold onto the National Points Championship so that he can keep his silver roof. The final National Points race is at Coventry at the start of November, so we will be nervous bears until the result is known. This reminds us of the year where the result was down to the final race of the evening - Frankie's car got trashed in one of the heats, and everyone rushed into the pits to help repair it (Paul included - he held the lights while the mechanics and Frankie repaired his car). Frankie's car finally limped out onto the track, with steam coming out from under the bonnet - it was in a very sorry state indeed. Andy's car wasn't much better, and just before the race began Andy pulled off into the infield with a mechanical fault, leaving Frankie with the winning score - Frankie managed to coax his car into doing some doughnuts to celebrate winning! This year's National Points Championship will probably be just as close, which the fans love, but it makes us bears very anxious because we want Frankie to win!
Anyway, we plan to stay out overnight, so we need to book up a Travelodge like the last one we stayed in - it had a massive bed, which was big enough for the humans and all us bears. We don't want to stay at one where the bed is so tiny we have to sleep on the shelves or in a suitcase. Bev - phone up Travelodge and ask for a room with a massive bed or book a family room - that should be big enough for 2 humans and 3 bears!
