Well, the Six Thick Thistle Sticks (as the family called themselves) won the Quiz Night by half a point - well done to those brain boxes! Andy was her usual brilliant self with the music, TV, film and other questions, and the whole team worked really well together before their brains became befuddled with alcohol. Bev yet again demonstrated that her head is full of very strange snippets of information, but remembering that Ailurophobia is a fear of cats was her finest hour! Bev has since found a website listing phobias, which will no doubt form the basis of reading-up for the next Quiz Night - http://phobialist.com/
And what did we bears do instead? We had a good night at the racing, which not surprisingly is exactly what Frankie did! He came 3rd in a heat, won the next one (they must have been racing the two-thirds format - ask Bev for the rule on the two-thirds format and you will see what I mean about her head being full of odd snippets of information), and came 2nd in the Final behind the excellent young gun Daniel Johnston (4). We cheered Frankie because he is our hero, because he drove really well and because he beat Andy Smith (as if we need any reasons to cheer him on)!
