Way to go, Frankie - you are a god, a superstar, our hero! He is racing his little socks off this year - World Champion, European Champion, holder of the UK Open and now, the holder of the Dutch Gold Cup! Frankie was 1st, followed by Dave Schapp (007 - nice James Bond signwriting on his car) and Stuart Smith Jnr in 3rd place.
Frankie was playing it very cool in the racing on Saturday, coming in 3rd or 6th in the heats, and not making it too obvious that he was a threat. However, today he showed his true colours and battled his way to the front! We're waiting with bated breath to hear about every bump and shove in the race. All we know at the moment is the top 3 positions and that 391 (Andy Smith, Stuart's brother) and 259 (Paul Hines) had to pull off without finishing the race.
Even if he loses his gold roof at Coventry on 2nd September, Frankie will be able to keep gold stripes on his roof to show he holds the Dutch Gold Cup! But we bears know that he will win the World Final from the back of the pack - he is in superb form at the moment, and is our hero! Way to go Frankie, you can do it!
Oh dear, Bev got so excited reading about Frankie's win that she forgot about the bread in the bread-maker. We now have one soggy loaf, and the prospect of no sandwiches for lunch tomorrow :-(
