Hi, Hamish MacBear, cub reporter, here again with a brief update on Frankie's progress. He was racing at Skegness last Thursday (3rd Aug). And did he impress the crowd of holiday makers with his racing? Do bears poo in the woods? Does the Pope wear a big hat? Of course he did! Apparently, he raced really slowly in the first heat, blew his diff (don't ask me, I'm only a bear!) and had to change the whole rear axle between races. People said this was just as impressive as his racing! It was touch and go if he would get out for the final, but he made it with seconds to spare, and drove his little socks off to win! He's a star!
He was racing again at Coventry on Saturday night - we bears couldn't go because we had to go to Jack's birthday party - but we checked the results as soon as we got home and discovered that Frankie had won the final. Yipee!
Next weekend is Birmingham, and we're planning to go to Wimbledon during the August Bank Holiday to see Frankie and Gordon go head-to-head in each other's cars! Our friend Tatielane might be coming too! So it all sounds as though it will be a good day's entertainment.
Then it's the World Final weekend. The BIG questions are - can Frankie qualify for the World Final? Can he win from the back of the pack? Will we be able to see or will someone tall stand in front of us? All these questions and more will be answered in later postings!
