Frankie and the Consolation Semi-Final

Hi, Hamish MacBear, cub reporter, here with the results of our research for the Consolation Semi-Final at Belle Vue in Manchester:
Rule: If the defending champion fails to qualify, then he gets to start at the back of the grid.
So, Frankie doesn't HAVE to qualify for the World Final, he is in it automatically. And since he didn't qualify in his semi-final, he will now start the World Final at the back of the grid.

Carlos can race in the consolation semi-final, but has chosen not to - we're not sure why, really, but we are disappointed - we always cheer for Carlos! Tony Smith will be racing - way to go, Tony. Glad to see you back racing after dislocating your shoulder at the European Championship! Mark Gilbank is also racing, so it should be an exciting race.

We're not sure how many will qualify for the World Final from this race - they keep changing the rules (or it's just that we bears haven't quite worked out what the rules are).
