Truely awesome Sunday at the Skegness UK Championship! Not only was the racing brilliant, but Frankie won the UK Championship and did doughnuts to celebrate! The scariest bit was when they started the race - 36 cars (9 litre engines, 500 bhp) arranged with the best at the back and the least experienced at the front, in close formation with a rolling lap, then foot to the floor! The first bend was a complete bottleneck with the lower-grade drivers being shunted by the faster drivers, and poor old Tony Smith rolled his car. After some time to fix the damage and a complete restart, Frankie powered his way from the back of the pack to take the chequered flag. There were a few panicky moments when he had a tussle with Carlos, but Frankie won through in the end.
Great day, great time in the pits and watching the racing, and despite getting up-close and personal with the cars, Bev only got a little oil on her face!
