F! Stock Car Semi-Final at Skegness

Last weekend we went to the first F1 Stock Car Semi-Final at Skegness, and were treated to some spectacular racing - this was much more exciting than the Euro Championship!  The Semi itself was fast and furious, with Frankie in the lead for most of the way, though he was finally overtaken by Paul Harrison and came in second!  Well done, Frankie!  He will be on the 2nd row at the world final in September.  Apparently, his front bumper got seriously damaged during an early altercation, and Frankie said he couldn't risk using it to push Paul Harrison out of the way.  When we went to see  the car in the pits, they were cutting bits out of the bumper and welding it together again!
The Final race of the evening was one of the best races I have seen in ages - they were racing very fast and hard, with lots of cars sustaining serious damage.  At the last bend, about 7 cars tried to come round the corner together, one got spun out and someone just drove over his car to cross the finish-line!  Richard, the commentator, just said "Blimey!" after the race - he was as gobsmacked as we were.
Frankie came in a very creditable 4th in that race, which was won by Stuart Smith Junior.
Great weekend, lots of sunshine, spectacular racing and scrummy cider!
