We bears, Bev and Paul went to the F1 and F2 Stock Car racing at Northampton last weekend, and what a joy that was - only a small number of die-hard fans and drivers turned up, but it was a great evening full of rufty-tufty racing.
We arrived in time to watch the drivers practising, but when Frankie pulled-off his engine made a strange noise. Paul rushed round to the pits to discovered that Frankie had his engine in pieces - he was looking for the foreign object that was making the horrible grinding noise, and checking to see what damage had been done and could be fixed! Poor Frankie eventually loaded his car onto the transporter without entering any of the heats. Daniel raced and did quite well, but it was a sad night for Bev who had been looking forward to seeing Frankie race.
We bears did try to help Frankie, but I think all we succeeded in doing was getting a lot of fur in the engine - our big furry paws mean we are useless as mechanics! Perhaps we should offer our services to the Smiths and then block up their engines with all our fur! Even Kitty could help.
Frankie is having a terrible year - Bev has been watching him race since 1999 and she has never known him to have so many problems. Never mind Frankie, we know you're the best!
