With the credit crunch still biting, Bev and Paul decided to have a Valentine's Lunch instead of an expensive Valentine's meal - all the pleasure and flavour, half the price! Anyway, they went to their favourite Italian restaurant in Letchworth, L'Artista, and had a delicious meal and a few drinks to celebrate Valentine's Day. L'Artista is more like an authentic Italian cafe than a posh restaurant, but the food is out of this world and as Paul says, the portions are "man-sized" so very filling!
Bev had tagliatelle with salmon, cream and peas (yummy) and Paul had rigatone amatriciana (also very yummy), followed by ice cream. It sounds delicious, but next time take us bears - we love pasta and salmon. Perhaps I'll take Phoebe there next year for Valentine's Day.....
So, if you haven't visited L'Artista in Letchworth, you are missing one seriously good Italian restaurant. It's a no-frills experience, but you get fabulous food, great service and a taste of the real Italy! It comes highly recommended by us bears, Bev and Paul - oh, and Tony too, who says he not only loves Italian food but also has an Italian name!
