We need to interrupt our holiday reminiscences to bring you an update on Kitty. As you will remember, the last mention of Kitty was when we waved goodbye to him as we set off on our holiday. We had made arrangements for the woman across the road to feed him and Paul had built him a cozy bed in the shed, but that didn't stop us worrying about him. After all, he is a fighting cat and needs regular maintenance.
Anyway, on our return, the car was hardly on the driveway when Kitty turned up looking for cuddles and food. He didn't sulk about us being away, he just settled back into his routine and seemed genuinely happy to see us all.
However, a week ago he turned up looking very sorry for himself indeed and when we examined him he had a horrible bite on his face. It turned into a big abscess and looked very painful and raw, though it is healing up nicely now. Paul treats him like a stockcar - Kitty goes out and fights, Paul repairs him. Paul is like Frankie's Norman - always there to sort Kitty out just like Norman sorts out Frankie's car.
