So, did Paul the Flag Marshall do well on Saturday night?

Paul turned up at Coventry Stadium at 2pm on Saturday afternoon for his flag marshall training. The good news was that he wore a bright orange flame-retardant set of overalls; the bad news was that it started to snow as the cars lined up for the first race. It was a bitterly cold night with fast and furious racing, and everyone raced really well.

Paul took his flag marshalling duties very seriously, bringing the first F1 race to a halt within the first few laps after a driver crashed near him and signalled that he was in distress! Paul enjoyed the rest of the evening's flag marshalling and is keen to have another go next month!

Poor Frankie and Daniel did not have a good night despite racing well and despite being spun out several times - Frankie managed a third in his heat and 6th in the Final, while Daniel managed 8th position in his heat but failed to finish either the final or the grand national. Never mind, there is always next Saturday at Northampton to look forward to, and this time Paul will be a spectator, so will be able to watch the racing properly.

It really was a cold night at the racing - everyone had to scrape the ice off their car windows before driving home, but both drivers and spectators looked happy after several hours of their favourite hobby!
