The icing on the cake of our perfect weekend was discovering that Frankie was racing again on Saturday at Coventry. He was definitely on form on Monday when he won the final at Belle Vue and came 2nd in the Grand National from a lap down. Way to go, Frankie!
And Bev has purchased a larger race track for the model F1 stock cars - well, swapped it actually. The man offered to buy back the old one and sell her the new one, and she only had to pay the difference. He's not daft - he knows that she'll need to buy more cars to fit on the track. The new track is 4-feet long and has pride of place on the dining room table, leaving only a little space for us all to eat our meals, but we don't care. Ok bears, we have a new race track to play with today - yipee!
Next weekend is a full weekend's racing at Skeggie, so no walks or bird watching for Bev and Paul. Instead we will all be hanging round the cars in the pits, watching the racing and getting very mucky indeed! And the big question will be - has Frankie managed to repair / rebuild his tarmac car in time for Saturday, will he be racing his shale car or will he have borrowed a car?
