Ok, Hamish here with some updates on our car and some news about Frankie (I know the racing season hasn't actually started yet, but he is never far from our thoughts, even if he is in New Zealand at the moment).
Firstly, our car - it has now been ordered, and as they no longer make it in red, we are getting it in a lovely silver colour (aluminium). Our contrary humans have now decided that they prefer the silver to the red, so are quite happy about this. Their other colour choice was iron grey, which looked very smart with the chrome, but it was a little dull - we bears want happy, bright colours, and the silver will be perfect!
Anyway, back to Frankie. He came in a very creditable 5th in the Motorsport News Top 10 Tarmac Titans, behind Sebastian Loeb (1st - Rallying), Andy Priaulx (2nd - World Touring Cars), Martin Groves (3rd - Hill Climbing Cars) and Fernando Alonso (4th - F1 Cars). Well done, Frankie! Frankie has been racing in his smart new car in New Zealand, where he came in 4th in their championship, and will now be competing in the 240s championship with other UK drivers. His little brother, Daniel, has been given special permission from his school to race in the ministox events in New Zealand, so fingers crossed he does well too. Good luck to all the Wainmans in New Zealand!
We are already getting excited about the 2007 racing season, which starts on the 24th of March! This is a racing season of change - Frankie will be racing with a red aerofoil, it will be his dad's last year racing in F1 as he retires at the end of the season (sob sob), and it will be Daniel's last year of racing in Ministox as he will be racing in F1 Stock Cars at the very end of 2007. We'll need to change our usual chant of "Go, Frankie, Go" to "Go, Wainmans, Go!"
