Hamish's review of 2006

Hi, Hamish here, contemplating what 2007 will bring for us bears and our humans. While I am in this contemplative mood, I thought I would list some of our highs and lows from 2006:

  • I started blogging in 2006, and surprisingly enough some people even spent their valuable time reading some of my mad rantings!
  • We had a beautiful holiday in Orkney with the nice lady and Carlos from Stirling. Orkney is a great place for bears to go on holiday - yummy wildlife, delicious Orkney fudge, and plenty of open space - what more could a bear ask for? Oh, and I think the humans enjoyed themselves as well, despite the fighting talk from Carlos in the back of the car!
  • We got a girlfriend, a pretty bearess called Phoebe! We are bearsotted with her and woo her at every opportunity. To all contenders for the position of girlfriend to Bill and myself, we regret to inform you that the position is now filled.
  • Bev passed her Prince2 Foundation exam with flying colours, which was great, but she now has her nose stuck in a book studying for her Practitioner exam.
  • The racing was hugely enjoyable this year, with everyone racing their socks off to provide lots of entertainment for the spectators. Frankie won a very impressive set of trophies, and while he didn't win the World Final, he came in 2nd from the back of the pack in what was undoubtedly the race of the night! The saddest part of the year was Frankie losing his Silver roof, but never mind, there is always the 2007 season for him to win it back again :-) Anyway, we will be there cheering him on as usual!
  • Christmas was lots of fun too. While Santa didn't bring me a F1 Stock Car and Transporter, he did bring me a very smart horse racing game, Bill and Phoebe got Hoosier racing hats, Bev got a copy of Cars on DVD, Paul got rid of his cough, we all ate and drank too much and generally had a lovely time.

This is Hamish signing out for 2006 and wishing everyone a very Happy New Year! See you all again in 2007!
