We have just discovered that Paul's hero - Frankie Wainman Senior - will be retiring from F1 Stock Car racing at the end of 2007. Poor Bill's human is very upset about this as he has supported him for years. However, there is some light at the end of the tunnel - Daniel Wainman will be moving from Ministox to F1 Stock Car racing at the end of 2007 and he will then take Frankie Senior's 212 number. But we are very sad to see Frankie giving up racing, as he is great fun and one of the great legends of F1 Stock Cars.
So, that should make for some interesting racing - the Wainman Brothers (Frankie Junior and Daniel) versus the Smith Brothers (Andy and Stuart Smith Junior). We bears are looking forward to it already!
And, of course, Frankie Junior's cubs are just about ready to move into Ministox - Phoebe (Frankie's daughter, not Phoebe the bearess) is registered as 515, and Frankie Samuel will be ready to start in a couple of years.
There are enough Wainmans to keep Bev and Paul watching the racing for a few years yet, probably until they are a pair of doddery old codgers. Mind you, they are getting that way now - both a bit slow on their pins, Paul getting confused - actually, he says he's always been like that - and both singing along to the Neil Diamond Tribute group! Next thing we know Paul will get a flat cap and have cushions on the parcel shelf of his car :-)
